Voice, Bluefield High School's newspaper!
The Beaver Voice
is a Bluefield High School tradition. Every day, the staff works
diligently and professionally to publish a high interest and
informational online newspaper for all of our supporters. From
dedicated faculty and staff to students who continually strive for
academic excellence, BHS is a top-notch, admirable institution of
learning.
We thank all of our

Top ten graduates from Bluefield High include Valedictorian
J.T. Roberts; Co-salutatorians Caroline Bordon, Matthew
Sabo, and Logan Lineberry; and Austin Fife, Justin Freund,
David Shrewsbury, Justin Mariotti, Tyler Myers, Piper Bowen,
Michael Goforth, Holly Martin, and Austin Tyree.

The BHS library is
transferring next semester from the ATHENA circulation and
cataloging system to DESTINY. This is to help bring our
library to 21st Century standards. The new system can be
accessed at home or anywhere internet is accessible. This
library database will not only include the BHS Library
holdings but also other libraries. Also, there will be
another reliable database offered to students and staff for
research purposes, Web Path Express. More information will
come in the fall.

Congratulations to freshman Tyler
Easley who received an Honorable Mention in “Letters About
Literature,” a contest sponsored by the West Virginia Center
for the Book and the Center for the Book in the Library of
Congress. Tyler will attend an awards ceremony and reception
in Charleston on Wednesday, May 29 to honor students
selected for state level judging by national screeners. The
piece he wrote for the contest was a letter to author Leora
Tanenbaum in response to her book, and expressed his
appreciation for her insights on the double standard that
exists regarding male and female sexuality.
